Azur is located on the centre of the southern coast of the Azuero Peninsula on the first line of hills overlooking the Isla Cañas Nature Reserve, one of the four nature reserves on the Peninsula. The natural reserve is surrounded by approximately 3,000 acres of different mangroves, giving all Azur’s lots protected and unobstructed Ocean views.
The Cañas Island is an excellent destination for eco-tourism with its many species of seabirds, mammals and the largest turtle nesting ground in Panama. Around 30,000 turtles arrive on the 13km protected beach to lay their eggs every year from July to December.
The Cañas and Venao region has one of the driest climates in Central America and offer countless land and water activities.
Azur is only minutes away from the village of Cañas with its supermarkets, canteens and natural marina. The marina is the only way to access fishing along the “tuna coast”.
The famous two-way sand break at Playa Venao is 5 minutes away and can be surfed year round, it hosted both the World Championship of Surf and the IISA World Championship.
More advanced surfers can also enjoy the Isla Cañas surf break, one of the best waves in the area.
